History
 
 Established in 1900, the Taiwan Tobacco & Alcohol Monopoly Bureau was privatized into Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation on 1 July 2002. Over the past 100 years or so, the Bureau has been a state business specialized in the production and sales of tobacco and alcohol. Today, Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation has five business units, including the logistics, tobacco, liquor, beer and biotechnology business units, with sales networks across Taiwan (see company website at http://www.ttl.com.tw for details). Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation has also established duty-free shops (DFS) at both the Taoyuan International Airport (Terminal 1) and Kaohsiung International Airport to provide quality products from the corporation and tobacco and liquor of internationally famous brands.
 
DFS at Taoyuan International Airport
 
     The first DFS of the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation was established in Taipei Airport in September 1970 (the Bureau Period). This DFS was later moved to the Departure Hall in Terminal 1 of Chiang Kai-shek International Airport (now Taoyuan International Airport) in February 1979 to cope with increasing international ridership. In August 1982, counters were established in the Arrival Hall in Terminal 1 to cope with the relevant policies. When Terminal 2 of Chiang Kai-shek International Airport was opened in July 2000, we set up counters in both the Arrival and Departure halls of Terminal 2 until the end of May 2003. In May 2003 and April 2009, we won the tobacco and liquor sales franchise in Terminal 1 for a term of 6 years each (with the second term running until October 2015). Upholding the integrity and service tradition of state business, we are committed to providing inbound and outbound passengers with quality products from the corporation and tobacco and liquor of famous international brands.
